One of our customers who bought two pcs of KTAG.

When he use one to test ECU, everything is ok and no  need to connect power cable.

But when he tested the second ECU, there are messages to ask for "Power Cable" and no communication

And he changed some cables, but all failed to connect. As following pics

Once meeting this situation, our customers need to test the first ECU again to check if the power cable is connected correctly or the second ECU is broken or not.

1- Cover a wide range of vehicles and update frequently

I have the ds708 and brought it when it was first released, at that time I have to honestly say it very nearly went back (via their office window) however now they have the coverage sorted and the updates coming thick and fast it really is a fantastic bit of kit. If you have a smart arse phone that can act as a wireless hub then you can use the ds to access autodata online plus of course any other internet site.

2- Work fine with the vehicles from Japan and Australia

We have been using the MaxiDas for about 18 months, and we are sort of happy with it. The NZ market is very biased to used vehicles made by Japan, and they have done well in this sector. Our guys work at Australia and ds708 also works very well on Australian vehicles... better than factory. We are a Mitsi dealership, and it is almost as good on Mitsi as our factory MUTT III.

3- Work fine with the vehicles from America e.g Ford

We have a solus ultra, ds708, Maximus 2.0 and Otc nemisys scan tool some work better than others depending on make

For American vehicles the solus shines but the German vehicles I like the Maximus 2.0
The Autel ds708 is great for certain test like misfire on fords
Is this primarily a one make shop or for you work on any make because I will tell you bmw dealerships around me prefer auto logic to factory scan tool

4- Tested okay on OBD I car and 2003 Olds Alero

What I can do:

I plugged it into an 2003 Olds Alero and was pleasantly surprised at it's level of accessibility. I could reprogram key fobs, reset trans adaptives, do CKP variation relearns and command several relays and widgets for testing purposes. Also had access to all live data in the BCM, SRS and ABS. 

5- Tested fine on Ford & GM cars

I've owned one for about a year, got it between 1200 & 1300.  Lack of battery means starting from scratch if unplugged.  Does do software updates over wifi and they are pretty frequent.  Live data has some of the best coverage I have seen for an aftermarket scan tool.  For the money is can't be beat.  Can be a little interesting to get used to, seems like they copy the oem tool pretty closely.  I have dealer Ford & GM tools and the Autel is an exact clone for the most part.  If you do a lot of the same make but the factory scanner, if you want a general shop tool this pretty damn good.  Like others have said, no bells and whistles, no scope or trouble shooter, just good basic info.  I use this mainly for Chrysler as the factory tool is insanely expensive and I am pretty pleased with it.

6- Verified working fine on ford diesels and BMW

ds708 was able to not only read the module but had good bidirectional support as well. The ford diesel coverage is very good. The gm diesel support is hit or miss. Haven't tried dodge. The European coverage is excellent. Bmw support is great. Mine even works on pre obd2 models using the proprietary bmw connector.I have been surprised by this unit almost everyone I use it.

7- good scanner for its price6-2012, 09:56 PM

I don’t really rely in my scanners for obd1 cars. But to be honest the autel is a pretty good scanner for its price. It can only do so much and that is the reason why it us price at $1300. There is no such thing as any scanner that can do everything that’s why now days a lot of shops have more than just 1 scanner. But for the price you pay for the maxidas it is totally worth having for what it is capable of doing.

8- Experience on the files download to SD card with Maxidas-22-2015, 04:37 AM

maxidas might be slow if ur running the older operating system I did a big update a few weeks ago and it faster than ever

as for slow if you do a full scan of any car it will take time as the bus system on the cars computer is not very fast
and as for updates running out its not a big problem as long as someone has the new files and can post them u can download them and load them up to the sd card using the usb sd reader u got with your maxidas

Part 2: Autel MaxiDAS DS708 fail to do

Not cover the old vehicles e.g Japanese cars.

What I'm disappointed in is coverage of older vehicles - we have all the old Japanese plugs - Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, and it works on none of them, the only OBDI it works on is Honda, it's useless on the rest. But does Mercedes (but not my 1994 NZ new C220) and BMW.

I just want to purchase it (FVDI ABRITES Commander Full Version) and want to know upto which year of  AUDI it offers component protection ?

What's component protection?Mainly about airbag reset function? No others ?

One of customers who bought it to do Airbag Reset funtion,but is not good .

Newest ODIS V2.02/2.0 VAS 5054 Plus License Expire Problem

When i install VAS 5054A ODIS V2.02 software on my XP system, i got series error

It shows me the license expired.

      

But how to solve it ?

The problem of these error is the software installation is not ok.

Customers needs to change a computer with XP system to install again.

Or reinstall computer system and then install software again.

This is the installation problem, the only way to solve it is to change computer or system.

Problems of VAG 14.10.2

Hallo

with this mail i send you the pictures of the Problem a have with <our vag 14.10 diagnostic cable.

I hope you can help.

On the First picture you will see the error message when the cable is connected to my car and i do the connecting test in the settings.

On the Second picture you see the message when the cable is not to connected to my car and i do the test.

The Third picture is the old software 12.12 with the old cable that already is working at my car.

i tried the cable @my vw golf tdi from 2000
and @ a golf 1.6 from 2003.
@ both cars the cable doesnt work and with the old cable and software it had gone.
For driver settings see the pictures.

From the above pics, we can see that the device is ok, and the program is also ok

But the message shows the device is not recognized.And also shows the customer use the newer version to udpate.

Suggestions from our engineer is "change a laptop to install software again without connecting net."

Procedure of Getting VVDI Benz Tool BGA Key Password

Xhorse VVDI Benz VVDI MB TOOL Key Programmer Calculate Mercedes BGA Key Password Procedure

For the Mercedes BGA Key Password calculation by VVDI Benz VVDI MB TOOL, there are 2 parts to do 1)

Read EIS data, 2)calculate password.

Read EIS data Procedure:

Step1: Select type:A166,W197,W212…, click OBD and then click Read.

Step2: EIS data reading success.

Calculate Password Steps:

Step1: Prepare online password.
Step2: Turn on ignition.
Step3: Select Key tool.
Step4: Select A166,W197,W212…
Step5: select OBD to collect data. The it will Prompt: device connected to the OBD and put the original key in the EIS. (click OK) And waiting for 15 seconds…

Step6: Insert the original key to VVDI MB tool, when system prompts.

Step7: Data are being collected. (5 minutes will be needed)
Step8: Data collection is completed. (Prompt: insert the original key in the EIS. Do as the prompt, and click OK.)
Step9: Waiting for 30 seconds. (Prompt: insert the original key to vvdi mb bga tool. Do as the prompt, and click OK.)
Step10: Save data.
Step11: Start to upload data, calculate password. (Prompt: uploading data…3 minutes needed… Click OK.)
Step12: Click step 4 Real time monitoring results and Refresh as a result.
Step13: Click Yes to begin refresh.
Step14: File B200 are calculated. Be waiting and again collect a set of data. (If the first set of data fails, use the second set of data)

Prompt: connect VVDI MB TOOL OBD port to EIS. Insert the original key to EIS. Do as the prompt, and click OK.
Prompt: insert the original key to VVDI MB TOOL. Do as the prompt, and click OK.
Step15: Be waiting and again collect a set of data…(4 minutes needed) (if the first set of data fails, use the second set of data)
Step16: Data collection and password calculation complete.

Step17: The whole procedure done.
